Artist’s Note

This piece is very personal to me, as It was the first truly scary book I ever read, and the one that opened the door to my love of Stephen King’s stories. It marked the beginning of a long journey into darker, more emotional storytelling, and that influence has stayed with me ever since.

With Skelly dressed as Georgie, I wanted to capture that strange mix of fear and curiosity I felt when I first read it – the innocence of childhood sitting alongside something unsettling and unknown. Skelly stands quietly in that space, unsure, thoughtful, and a little bit brave.

For me, this artwork is about how stories shape us, scare us, and comfort us all at once.
