There’s a moment with every painting where it finally feels complete — not when the last brushstroke goes on, but when it’s framed and quietly settles into itself.

Mother’s Pride reached that moment this week.

This piece has always been about protection for me. Not the loud, dramatic kind — but the quiet, instinctive strength that sits beneath tenderness. The way a mother shelters without thinking. The way love exists even in stillness.

While painting it, I kept slowing myself down. Fur softened. Edges blurred just enough. I wanted the focus to stay on the connection between them — that gentle press of head to head, the sense of safety, the unspoken promise of “you’re safe here”.

Seeing it now, beautifully framed by @framework, feels like a deep exhale.
The frame doesn’t compete — it simply holds the moment, allowing the painting to breathe and belong.

This is the part I love most: imagining where a piece like this will live. In a quiet corner of a home. Somewhere you pass every day. Somewhere it becomes part of the background of your life — steady, reassuring, constant.

Mother’s Pride is now available.

If it speaks to you — if that feeling of tenderness and quiet strength resonates — you’re very welcome to get in touch for details. I always love knowing where my paintings are heading next.
